Undisclosed Speyside 1998-2026 | 27 Year Old Infrequent Flyers Single Cask 802366
Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: The Alistair Walker Whisky Company 70cl / 53.6%
A single cask Glenrothes single malt Scotch whisky, distilled in 1998 and bottled in April 2026 by Alistair Walker Whisky Co. for Batch 21 of his popular Infrequent Flyers Collection. Matured for 27 years in cask #802366 before spending almost five years finishing in a Chinquapin oak barrel, this limited release yielded just 200 bottles at a natural cask strength of 53.6% ABV, without added colour or chill filtration.
Although bottled as an "Undisclosed Speyside" malt, this whisky is confirmed to have been distilled at Glenrothes. Chinquapin oak (Quercus muehlenbergii), a species of American white oak, is prized for its ability to impart bold spice, sweetness and texture while allowing the distillery character to remain at the forefront. After almost five years of finishing, expect Glenrothes' elegant Speyside spirit to be complemented by layers of rich honey, ripe orchard fruits and marzipan, alongside warming notes of Demerara sugar, nutmeg, cracked black pepper and toasted oak. The result should be a full-bodied, richly textured whisky with impressive depth and an amplified spice profile.
Batch 21 of the Infrequent Flyers Collection was bottled in April 2026 and comprises seven individual single cask releases (AWW Release Numbers 186 to 192), each selected by Alistair Walker to showcase distinctive cask maturation and bottled in limited quantities at natural cask strength.
