A rare independent bottling of Springbank 10 Year Old, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2006 by Alchemist Beverage. Founded in 2005 by whisky industry veteran Gordon Wright, the Glasgow-based company earned an excellent reputation for releasing high-quality Scotch whiskies before its closure in 2013, with its limited production making its bottlings increasingly sought after today.

This release was created from a vatting of fresh port casks and first-fill bourbon casks, an unusual maturation combination that complements Springbank's naturally robust Campbeltown spirit. The first-fill bourbon casks provide layers of vanilla, honey and fresh orchard fruits, while the fresh port casks contribute rich red berry notes, gentle spice and a subtle sweetness without overpowering the distillery's distinctive character.

Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration or added colouring, this whisky retains Springbank's signature oily texture alongside maritime salinity and earthy complexity. Distilled during a highly regarded era at the distillery and presented by one of Scotland's most respected short-lived independent bottlers, this is a scarce and fascinating alternative to the official 10-year-old, offering a unique interpretation of Springbank through an uncommon cask recipe.
