Distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2011, this Highland Park 18 Year Old Earl Haakon was the third and final release in the distillery's acclaimed Inga Saga Trilogy, a series inspired by the Norse history and Viking heritage of Orkney. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.9% and limited to just 3,300 individually numbered bottles.

Named after Earl Haakon Paulsson, one of the most prominent figures featured in the Orkneyinga Saga, this release was matured for eighteen years in a combination of carefully selected oak casks before being bottled without chill-filtration. The whisky displays Highland Park's classic character of rich heather honey, dried fruits, warming spices and gentle aromatic peat smoke, with the higher strength adding extra depth, complexity and texture.
