Glendronach 1974-2003 | 28 Year Old Blackadder Raw Cask Single Cask 3407
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled by: Blackadder International 70cl / 48.6%
An old single cask Glendronach distilled on 18th December 1974 and bottled by independent bottler Blackadder in November 2003 after 28 years of maturation. Released as part of Blackadder's celebrated Raw Cask series, this whisky was bottled directly from cask #3407 at its natural strength of 48.6% without chill filtration or added colouring, preserving the character and texture of the spirit as faithfully as possible.
The Raw Cask range became famous for presenting whisky in its most natural form, often containing small particles of cask char and sediment carried over from the cask itself. This example was additionally finished for twelve months in a sherry cask, adding further depth and complexity to an already mature Highland single malt.
Produced during what many collectors regard as a golden era for Glendronach, this bottling captures the rich, fruit-laden style that helped establish the distillery's reputation. Just 653 bottles were released, making it an increasingly scarce and desirable example of Glendronach from the highly regarded 1970s vintages.
