Big Peat's Feis Ile 2023 bottling is something a bit special: The Smokehouse Edition is the first time that everyone's favourites Islay blended malt whisky has had a finish!
For the Islay Festival (Feis Ile) 2023, Big Peat have released The Smokehouse limited edition, which has been 'predominantly' finished in red wine casks - we're going to go ahead and assume that the famous teaspoon of Port Ellen went in au naturel.
Big Peat Smokehouse has been bottled at a heartier-than-usual 48% without colouring or chill filtration, and Douglas Laing have really pushed the packaging boat out this time, with the portrait of the eponymous Peat embossed in gold foil on the label and the bottle sporting a chunky red wax seal. This will be a belter, and as the name suggests, we're certain it'll make a great partner for a hefty chargrilled steak.
