Banff 1980-2006 | 25 Year Old Duncan Taylor Rarest Of The Rare Single Cask 2912
Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Bottled By: Duncan Taylor 70cl / 53.1%
A single cask Banff, distilled in November 1980 and bottled by Duncan Taylor in April 2006 as part of their celebrated Rarest of the Rare series. Drawn from cask #2912 after 25 years of maturation, this exceptional release yielded just 181 bottles and was bottled at its natural cask strength of 53.1% without chill filtration or added colouring.
Banff was one of Scotland's lost distilleries, closing in 1983 before being demolished several years later. Official bottlings are virtually non-existent, making independent releases such as this an increasingly important link to the distillery's character and history. Duncan Taylor's Rarest of the Rare range was created to showcase outstanding mature whiskies from closed distilleries, and Banff was a natural candidate for inclusion.
The combination of long ageing and Banff's distinctive spirit style has produced a whisky of remarkable depth and complexity, offering rare opportunity to experience a genuine piece of Scotch whisky heritage.
