A fantastic old bottling from the legendary closed Banff Distillery, distilled in November 1966 and bottled by Douglas Laing in August 1998 as part of their highly regarded Old Malt Cask series. Matured for an impressive 31 years and bottled from a single cask at 50% ABV, this release was limited to just 181 bottles.
Banff's reputation has grown enormously since the distillery's closure in 1983, with well-aged examples from the 1960s now regarded among the most fascinating lost malts of Scotland. Long maturation often brought an extraordinary combination of tropical fruits, waxy complexity, old oak polish and delicate spices, creating whiskies of exceptional character and depth.
Presented in the classic early Old Malt Cask livery and bottled without chill filtration or added colouring, this rare release captures a style of whisky that can never be recreated. A superb example of mature Banff and an increasingly scarce bottling from one of Scotland's most sought-after silent distilleries.
