Ardbeg Smoketrails Manzanilla Edition was released in 2022 as the inaugural bottling in Ardbeg's Smoketrails series and the distillery's first dedicated Travel Retail exclusive. Created to explore the influence of different cask types on Ardbeg's famously peaty spirit, the series takes inspiration from journeys around the world in search of exceptional oak.

For this first release, Ardbeg combined whisky matured in classic American oak casks with spirit finished in Spanish Manzanilla sherry casks sourced from Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The result is a distinctive marriage of coastal Islay peat and the dry, saline character of Manzanilla sherry, bringing layers of sea spray, roasted nuts and subtle savoury complexity to Ardbeg's trademark smoky profile.

Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and presented in a one-litre format, Ardbeg Smoketrails Manzanilla Edition was available exclusively through World Duty Free and selected travel retail outlets.

Nose: Deep aromatic whiskey with lovely herbal notes. A combination of tar, saddle soap, pine, resin and Brazil Nuts.

Body: Salty, Sea Spray, Nuttiness.

Palate: Very distinctive notes of nuttiness followed by tar, soot and dark chocolate.
